Our Statement of Faith

Turin Methodist Church affirms the Articles of Religion sent to America by John Wesley and adopted at the Christmas Conference of 1784, which established the Methodist Episcopal Church. These Articles of Religion have guided Methodist theology for over 240 years and remain our doctrinal foundation today.

Core Beliefs:

We Believe in the Bible
The Holy Scriptures contain all things necessary for salvation and are the final authority for faith and practice. We believe the Bible is God's inspired, inerrant Word.

We Believe in the Trinity
There is one God who exists eternally in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully God, yet there is only one God.

We Believe in Salvation by Grace Through Faith
Salvation is a free gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. We are saved not by our works or goodness, but by trusting in Christ's death and resurrection for our sins.

We Believe in Personal Holiness
Following John Wesley's teaching, we believe Christians are called to pursue holiness in every area of life. While we are saved by grace, we are called to grow in sanctification and Christ-likeness.

We Believe in the Church
The church is the body of Christ, made up of all true believers. We gather for worship, fellowship, discipleship, and service. The church exists to glorify God and make disciples of all nations.

We Believe in Marriage and Family
We affirm the biblical definition of marriage as a covenant between one man and one woman. We believe God created male and female in His image, and that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage between a man and a woman.

We Believe in the Great Commission
Jesus commanded His followers to go and make disciples of all nations. We are committed to sharing the gospel in our community and supporting mission work around the world.
